Controller
Summary:
Tremendous opportunity to work with a GROWING Asset Management firm in Fairfield County! The ideal candidate will enjoy the responsibility of tracking large global investments and organizing investor and manager information in a systematic manner. Stable investor base includes prominent college and university endowments, museums, hospitals, charitable foundations and families. The Controller will have the opportunity to meet with some of the world’s best hedge fund managers in order to analyze the quality of their operations areas. The work environment is a positive, collegial atmosphere, where they emphasize collaboration and foster development.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the teams responsible for fund administration, portfolio analytics and reporting, operational due diligence, investment execution/trade settlement, compliance, and investor relations.
Responsible for the fund administration process calculating monthly, quarterly and annual performance, portfolio reconciliations, bank reconciliations, trade and wire confirmation, and performance reporting.
Assist in managing the funds’ annual audits.
Responsible for calculating portfolio analytics including monitoring fund exposures, performance attribution, and other risk management related statistics.
Responsible for investment execution and trade settlement by participating in underlying manager document reviews, supervising the preparation of wire instructions and trade tickets, and confirming receipts of all investments.
Strong involvement with the research process by developing and implementing best practices in operational due diligence and assisting in operational reviews.
Responsible for ongoing compliance within the finance function.
Responsible for investor communications relating to financial reporting information. This includes: investor and consultant request follow-up, monthly performance reporting, marketing packages, and other marketing related functions.
Qualifications:
8-10 years of experience out of a hedge fund, private equity or financial service company and a minimum of 3-6 years of audit experience in a medium or Big 4 size accounting firm
The ideal candidate should have a BS or BA degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred
Location: Greenwich, CT
Compensation: $150,000
